Unaffected, Unmoving, but Able.

I’ve felt very quiet. As if for the first time, my surface wasn’t rippling. No longer altered by the actions of another. Still. And as I wait, it’s as if, for the first time, I realize I too can move myself. That the surface of me is under my control. I am not simply a lake to be altered, manipulated, entered, and enjoyed. I am water. I move as I demand. How I do so, I am still unsure. A babe on fresh legs. But for the first time, I am an element gone sentient. I rendered myself to object alone, with the intention to protect the self, a state from which I can pull myself from. A state I will pull myself from, now ready to live once more. But for the moment, I will stay. In the unaffected stillness, I will stay.

Unaffected, unmoving, but able.
